Celebrating
Life, Liberty, and Patriotism through meat. Lots of meat.
About the Event

This
year's Fatty Burger Independence Day Celebration of Gluttony will take
place on Sunday, July 4, 2010! Of course, the festivities will
unofficially begin sometime Friday for those inclined to come
early.
As always,
it starts when you're hungry, and ends when you can't stuff another
bite in your mouth. We expect to fire the grills up by about 11 AM. We
usually stop cooking by 7 or 8 PM.
As usual, there will be nightly games of Texas Hold 'Em every night that we have enough players.
What's in a Name?

I'm occasionally (er,
frequently), asked what in God's name a "Fatty Burger" is. Since I tire
of explaining it, here we go:
Long ago, at the first
Fatty Burger (before I'd even been to a Fatty Burger), the only thing
on the menu was pre-formed Philly Gourmet-brand "beef" patties. They
were probably 63% lean meat on a good day.
The legend goes that
one original FB attendee tossed one on the grill, and forgot about it
for quite a while. Like a couple hours. When the small, charred hockey
puck of a meat patty was discovered later, someone remarked "Wow, that
was a Fatty Burger!"
The rest is glorious, meat-loving history.
Entertainment!

This year we are fortunate to have booked a repeat performance by The Dark Sides! Check out their page on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/TheDarkSides
Guest Policy

For those
unfamiliar, the Fatty Burger guest policy is as follows:
If you've
ever been to a Fatty Burger celebration and we didn't kick you out, you are invited back for life.
Bring yourself, bring your significant other, bring your friends, bring
the kids. If you know anyone who has been to a Fatty Burger
celebration, you are invited. Do understand that the party is mostly a
bunch of drunken nerds trying to find ways to hurt ourselves through
engineering projects, but it's all in good fun and we welcome other
revelers!
If you
have no idea who I am or what I'm talking about, please
don't show up at my house expecting food, beer, or to rob me. That's
not cool.
Also,
anyone coming from out of town, or anyone who just doesn't feel like
driving home from our place in the sticks can feel free to crash at any
point during the weekend. Rooms, beds, couches, blankets, pillows, and
floor are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Menu

As always,
the menu is a tribute to meat:
Massive Burgers!
Dry-Rubbed Ribs
Slow-Smoked Pork
Tastey Steak
Grilled Chicken
Sausage and other tube meats
Hot Dogs - for the kids
Potato Salad
Roasted Veggies
And of course: The Sauce!
Mmmm... Beer

As always,
we will have a variety of delicious microbrewed beer and cider
available. I do not anticipate any homebrew, once again this year. I suck.
